Welcome to my ILA class page.
We will read, read, read.
We will build knowledge through reading. We will develop empathy and relate to the text. We will extract and employ evidence. We will become observant and perceptive readers.
We will write different types of writing using the traits of writing and the writing process.
Estimated Test Schedule
- Spelling tests will be approximately every three weeks.
- Vocabulary- Please study the first ten words the first week and the next ten words the second week. This gives us a third week to review word usage and study before the test at the end of the third week.
- Latin word parts will be given once each trimester. There will be one quiz each trimester. Don't wait until the last minute to study.
- Reading assessments will vary. Some will be tests or quizzes and the date will be posted in advance. Others will be projects completed in class. Most will include a writing component. There will also be separate formal writing assignments.
- Grammar will be addressed in the reading and writing assessments and graded during class work.
-There will be public speaking assignments.
Please continue to check this webpage daily to see announcements, important information and homework posted (see homework tab above). Please remember that students are responsible to write down the homework in class as well.
